Description
This case is small with a lock and key. Gold-tooled design on face, top, and sides. The face of the case only has one hinge and is loose. The entire box is lined in light green faille-silk. Two sections of two each are hinged to fold out reveals larger lowest section; each section has a gold-tool scroll design. The bottom is covered with wood-designed paper.
Small metal tag that reads: "De Vielles Gens de France Viennet Remerciet Leurs Amis Des Stats Unis. Santons de Provence. Donnes par M. Ed. G. D'Estaing, Pt. de la Societe Financiere Francaise".
Translation: The Old People of France Thank Again Their Friends of the United States. Province of Santons. Given by M. Ed. G. Estaing, President of the Financier's Society of France.
