Description

This is a small, incised jar with a Military Road Incision pattern on the exterior, which is a grey to orange paste. The interior of the vessel has plaster that masks the original surface. It has a flat bottom, a globular body, and a tall rim with a slightly flared lip. The decorations on the body include diamond-shaped areas filled with incised herringbone designs with the areas in between filled with incisions at right angles to lines inside the diamonds. A line of punctuates separates the body and rim, with decoration on the rim consisting of wavy, incised lines separated by double rows of punctuates and rows of punctuates just below the lip.
