Miniature one-handled jar (jug) otherwise known as an aryballos: a small bottle with globular body and narrow neck and often used by athletes to contain oil.
This aryballos has a slightly concave base, ovid body; short neck; out-splayed rim; one loop handle attached at rim and shoulder; black with vertical fluting on body; incised "X" below handle; beige clay, black glaze.
