Description
Wheel-turned; swirled bichrome clay of light orange and brown colors. Interior has brown glaze to lip. Flat base with slight ridge on outer edge, convex, expanding body to the rounded shoulder; no neck; inverted rim with rounded lip. No makers' mark.
Paste is both courser and heavier than that of the rest of the collection. Interior glaze not smooth on bottom; bits of unsmoothed clay on shoulder (fired on). May be a defective piece of Niloak, or may not be Niloak. (different clay source suspected)
