Sea lion sculpture. Ironwood.
Sea lion floating on back with head, rear flippers and tail elevated. Front legs rest on chest. Figure has mollusk in mouth and finely etched whiskers extending over it. Sea lion has ears slightly back on head in high relief. Eyebrows are in high relief and it has carved ovals for eyes. Has circular punctuation for nostrils. Has finely etched nails on front paws. Tail curves upward under right flipper. Figure is highly polished, dark brown in color.
