Description

Majorette jacket. White wool twill.

Front: right side has 6 chrome plated buttons (should have one more but it's missing). Shank buttons, "Waterbury Button Co., Conn." and have lyre design. Left side has 7 buttons like those on right side. Also has 5 4-hole white plastic buttons. Lined with white satin. Right side has mfr's label: "FRUHAUF southwest Uniforms/Wichita, Kansas/Date - 9-4-54" with lines for name, chest, sleeve, waist, and neck measurements. Left side has 2 reinforcing white plastic buttons, right side has 5 worked buttonholes. Sewed on label in middle of back: "115." Hanging loop in middle of back.

Back: gored, with red soutache braid covering seam on each side. Braid ends in trefoil at top of each seam. Waist pointed and has slit.

Shoulders: epaulettes made of braided red and white cording. Collar: red wool twill standing collar trimmed with 3 rows of white soutache, small metal button on each side and a tab on left side with hook & eye.

Sleeves: white wool twill, red wool twill cuffs ending in a point on upper side. Red soutache braid surrounds cuff and forms a complex trefoil on upper side above point on cuff.
