Description
Elephant figurine.
Ironwood. Dark brown highly polished. Figure is a standing elephant with trunk extended upward. Ears are flattened on side of shoulders. Each ear has 3 grooves raying outward towards back. Eyes are wide lined, grooved ovals. Each foot has 3 widely notched toes. Mouth is a grooved "V" with 2 drilled holes at end points for insertion of tusks. Suggestion of a tail hanging down behind proper right rear. Sinew is deeply carved "V" shape.
