Description
Quail figurine. Ironwood.
The base is pyramid shaped and rough. The smoothly carved bird stands erect and is looking to the left with well-defined eyes, a fairly large beak and a large curved plume extending upward from the top of his head. The wins are closed with deep grooves following the contour of his upper body and separating the wings. Each wing has 3 vertical slashes to indicate feathers. The tail is carved separate from the base, is fairly long and is curved with 3 vertical slashes.
