Description
Band Director's Jacket. Red polyester twill single-breasted jacket lined in black fabric. Has 2 chrome plated shank buttons and 2 machine worked buttonholes. Lapels and collar black polyester twill and collar lined with black fabric. Left chest has set-in pocket, "U of A" embroidered in black, false red handkerchief in pocket with "DIRECTOR" embroidered in black. Welt pocket on each side opposite lower button. Welt flap black and pockets are lined in black fabric (probably taffeta). Each side has set-in pocket in lining.
Right pocket has stitched-on label - "DEMOULINS BROS. & CO." Small white tag says "Dry Clean Only." Right side pocket has stitched down white label with printing: "De Moulin Bros. & Co./Greenville, Illinois/ Inseam ___/Waist ___ Collar ___/Chest 41__ Robert Bright/O.NO. 766947," also small union label - "Int. Ladies Garment Workers Union." Back has 2 gores.
Sleeves have 2 rows of black soutache braid on top half and they are sewed on diagonal line. In smaller chrome plated shank buttons are sewed on and shank pushed underneath the red sleeve fabric.
