Description
Drum Major Jacket. Tail coat - white wool twill lined with white satin. Front has 5 white plastic 4-hole buttons, 6 machine worked buttonholes; 6 chrome plated shank buttons on each side for attaching shield. Also has button at neck on each side, 5 snaps on each shoulder. Inside has 6 small 2-hole white plastic reinforcing buttons. Right front has hidden pocket with label stitched on (unreadable), also has label "FRUEHAUF Quality tailored."
Tails: each side has closed pleat and stylized half-lyre design in red felt, red net stitching, edged with black soutache braid. Back: snap at center back. Inside has hanging loop, label stitched on - "114." Has underarm shields.
Sleeves: half of cuff red felt with meandering red chain stitch, banded with black soutache braid. Each sleeve has stylized half-lyre in red felt with red net stitching and edged with black soutache braid.
Collar: red wool twill stand up, trimmed in white soutache braid. Has 2 smaller chrome plated buttons on each side of collar. Collar lined in white satin, has red on left side and hook and eye.
