Description
Woven, split oak basket, circular base and rim, two opposing strap handles set into sides of basket in upper third portion of sides; dome-shaped lid. Base center convex at top, concave underneath, formed by crossed warp splints. Outer base and sides 1/1 plain weave. Rim finished with horizontal splint reinforcements held in place by overcast splint lashing. Two opposing handles in top third of sides with ends extending down into weaving.
Lid center formed by crossed warps, outer to and sides 1/1 plain weave; bottom edge reinforced with lashed splints.
